Keep this date and time open for a special program on our 14 schools during the 1800's. Do you know where they are? The program will be held on Thursday, November 3 at 1:00pm at the Town Hall upstairs. I bet you didn't know that Aldrichville had a few schools up in the mountain of which we have the school register of the children attending. Other one-room schools were scattered all over the area of which we have photos of most of them along with interesting tidbits to tell.
Besides our informative talk on the schools, we have photos of classes standing in front of school structures of which need identification. We hope someone in the audience might recognize an old photo and can give us info on it. We would like to encourage anyone with old photos to please keep us in mind and not to discard them when cleaning out attics, etc. That goes for anything that was made or came from Wallingford. These items will forever be treasured and kept in our archives for generations to come to look at. Wallingford Alumni also will have an active part in our presentation with Rita Reynolds remembering the demolition of the high school and also being the last class to graduate from the old school.
Please set the time and date, Thursday, Nov. 3 at 1:00, aside to join us and learn all about our little schools from days gone by. You will thoroughly enjoy this trip to school!
