At 4:00 next Thursday, October 27, I will present a halloween program of folk storytelling aimed at middle-school through adult, in the Kellogg Hubbard Library's new YA space, the East Montpelier Room, These are traditional oral tales, of the kind that used to be told around the fire all over the world. Some of them I have collected personally, from unbroken oral tradition, here in the Green Mountains.
This is not a show for little kids. But it is a good time for the bigger ones, and for adults who are still young enough enough to enjoy such things.
The program is free. No reservations are necessary.
If the weekday afternoon is difficult, you could catch much the same show on Saturday (tomorrow as I write this) at 2:00, upstairs in the St. Johnsbury Athenaeum.
And, a word to the wise, I'm presenting a unique show for adults of all ages, "50 Years of Storytelling," at Lost Nation Theater mid-November. More on this later.
