On Saturday, October 29 at 7 pm in the Wardsboro Town Hall, Wardsboro Curtain Call will again present Ted Lawrence and his Trunkside Tales. The program is an oral recounting of adventures and experiences lived by a clown on the road performing over 500 shows per year while living on a train.
Lawrence graduated from the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Clown College in 1986, toured with the "Red Unit" for two years, and was honored to return to Clown College in '94 as a member of their faculty. A gifted storyteller, Lawrence will share many fascinating stories from his life as a clown while using his actual steamer trunk as a backdrop.
This program will be a "historical lecture" without any of the fanfare and spectacle of the real circus. The audience will be treated to musings from an authentic "Ringling Style" clown on what it means to be a clown, and what it really means to be "in a circus."
Admission is by donation (please note we need to pay Ted!). The storytelling begins at 7 pm with doors opening at 6:30. This is NOT a café-style BYOB event. Halloween costumes are not required but strongly encouraged.
