Vermont French-Canadian Genealogical Society Annual Fall Conference, October 22, 8:30am – 4:00pm, St. John Vianney Parish Hall, So. Burlington Our speakers will focus on Vermont and New York. Kyle Hurst, from the New England Historic Genealogical Society, will present on patterns of settlement, expansion, and migration for each state. Patrick Lacroix, Director of the Acadian Archives in Fort Kent, Maine, will speak on very early French-Canadian Migrations to both states. And Howard Coffin, author of books on Vermont in the Civil War, will speak on a newer topic of interest to him, 1816, the "year with no summer" and how this strange weather phenomenon caused many to head West. A boxed lunch may be ordered when registering online. $40.00 for members. $50.00 for non-members. Lunch is $12.00. Details and registration.
