All are invited to the Richmond Free Library on Thursday afternoon to celebrate the release of the book "Our Better Nature: Hopeful Excursions in Saving Biodiversity" edited by Curt Lindberg and Eric Hagen. Full of beautiful color photographs and illustrations, the book is a collection of new essays by regional conservation experts--including local writer Tom Butler--and of stories about creative citizens who are protecting and restoring nature. Please join us on October 20 in the library's community room at 4:30 for light refreshments and the opportunity to purchase a copy of the book (cash, check, and Venmo accepted). The program will start at 5:00 pm, with readings from authors Tom Butler (Senior Fellow at Northeast Wilderness Trust) and Liz Thompson (Conservation Science Director at the Vermont Land Trust) and time for reflections and conversation with the authors, editor Curt Lindberg, and middle school science teacher Sandra Fary (who is featured in the book). Sponsored by the Richmond Library and the Vermont Alliance for Half-Earth. More info: https://www.richmondfreelibraryvt.org/news/our-better-nature-book-celebration
