In "The Body Keeps the Score, " Dr. Bessel van der Kolk explains trauma (it's not just experienced by war Veterans or victims of violence) and shows how it literally reshapes the brain and the body. Learn why some people experience incomprehensible anxiety, numbing, and/or intolerable rage, and how trauma affects someone's capacity to concentrate, to remember, to form trusting relationships, and even to feel comfortable in their own bodies.

Counselor Gillian Ireland, MS, LCMHC will be here to help guide the conversation. It is important to note that we are not sharing personal experiences, we are just discussing the things we learn from this book and asking questions. Even if you don't finish the book, that's okay! We're just sharing information and would love to have you here.
