Paul Asbell is an American Blues and Jazz guitarist from Chicago, IL who's moved to Vermont and been a resident since 1971.

Paul has earned an underground reputation as a true "Musician's Musician". He has played and recorded with Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Howlin' Wolf, Lightnin' Hopkins, Earl Hooker, Donny Hathaway to name a few.

Paul and Stand up Bassist Clyde Stats have played together for 55 years. Both of them are UVM Professors and have many years experience teaching music. Paul has been named "Best Musician of 2004" by Seven Days Magazine and in 2019 received a Daysie award for "Best Instrumentalist".
