Interested in birding? Or learning more about how to figure out what you are seeing?

Want to add to a growing body of worldwide date while sipping your morning coffee and looking out the window?

Come learn about an exciting app that can enhance your birding experience while enabling you to be a citizen scientist contributing valuable information to a worldwide database used by conservation scientists.

Bev Vallee, a wildlife biologist who birds around Addison County, will introduce you to eBird basics, and show how this easy to use program can help you bird, and how you can help science. All you need is a well charged electronic device, and perhaps a pair of binoculars. Having the eBird app installed and running before class is recommended. The workshop will take place inside and outside, on Saturday October 15th from 10am - 11:30am.

Space is limited! Please sign up by emailing Laura at: lfarrel@gmail.com, with the subject heading 'eBird Workshop'.

The eBird program was developed by, and is maintained by, the famed Cornell Lab of Ornithology. It can be used on a pc, tablet, android or smartphone and by people at all levels of "computer literacy" and all levels of birding experience. With eBird you can:

~Keep track of your bird lists, photos, and sounds
~Find more birds
~Explore latest sightings from around the world
~Join the world's largest birding community
~Contribute to science and conservation

Bev is partnering with the Mid-Champlain Valley Regional Conservation Partnership. Made possible by an eBird mini grant from the Northeast Bird Habitat Conservation Initiative, the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, and The Highstead Foundation to the Mid-Champlain Valley Regional Conservation Partnership (MCV RCP).
