Independence Day in Jeffersonville
Preparations are underway for our Independence Day celebration! The parade will step off on Friday, July 4th, at 10 AM from G.W.Tatro. Parade participants should arrive by 9:30. This year's parade Grand Marshall is Matt Safford. The entertainment at this year's fair, once again provided through the generosity of the Cambridge Arts Council, is Kim and Reggie Harris. Among their repertoire are songs of and about the Underground Railroad. As always, the fair immediately follows the parade at Cambridge Elementary School and runs until 2:00 with 'good eats', crafts, games for the kids and a chance to reconnect with friends and neighbors. Don't forget the Frog-jumping Contest!
For any information related to the parade or the fair afterwards at Cambridge Elementary school, contact Ray Saloomey at rsaloomey@myfairpoint.net or, weekdays, at 644-8232. The parade does not require pre-registration and there is no charge to participate. If you are interested in space at the fair, it requires pre-approval and the fee is $20.00, which is waived for 'Non-profits' and members of the Smugglers' Notch Area Chamber of Commerce. Please keep in mind that we have a policy of avoiding duplication of your 'offerings' and it's generally first come...
