A Presentation by Burlington's Historic Affordable Houses & Neighborhoods
When: Saturday, November 5, 9:30 a.m. – 1:15 p.m.
Where: Generator Makerspace, 40 Sears Lane, Burlington
Registration required: https://my.historicnewengland.org/14062/small-houses

Burlington's Historic Affordable Houses & Neighborhoods will present the history of the surge in construction, during the first half of the 20th century, of modest kit and plan-built houses. These houses left their stamp on suburban America as they were economical to build, had all the modern conveniences, and placed home ownership within reach of a growing middle class.

Join us for a presentation of the history of these small houses, and to explore the lessons they offer us today about the development of affordable housing that minimize resource use and maximize efficiency.

Homeowners, architects, builders, planners, and real estate professionals will find this presentation useful in preserving the character-defining features of these houses and applying them to contemporary design.

Registration required: https://my.historicnewengland.org/14062/small-houses
Historic New England members, $15; Nonmembers, $20
