The Town of Plainfield is applying to the VTrans Bike/Ped program for funding to: install a pre-fab pedestrian bridge (spanning the Winooski, adjacent to and south of the Main Street Bridge in the lower village); construct a segment of sidewalk connecting said bridge to the parking lot opposite the Town Hall/Opera House; provide an improved crosswalk across US 2. If funded, this project will provide a safe passage for pedestrians between the lower and upper village.
