Ward 1 NPA: Oct. 12, Friends Meeting House

Past event
Oct 12, 2022, 7 PM

Neighbors
Please join us at the October Ward 1 NPA meeting on Wednesday October 12 at the Friends Meeting House 173 N Prospect Street. We will open the doors at 6:30 - join your neighbors for conversations and snacks!

This month we hope to focus on redistricting and public safety. Our City Councilor, Councilor Hightower sits on the Redistricting Working Group, will answer questions and talk about current redistricting options and what to expect from the process going forward. Please note that the current deliberations might significantly change the character of Ward 1, with an increase in the number of campus addresses and a concomitant adjustment in the number of owner-occupied residences. Please come to hear what the City Council is thinking, and let your representative know what you think!

Melo Grant from the Police Commission will also participate in the NPA, as will Nick Smith from SD Ireland, who will discuss a development project at the far end of the Old East End. We also hope to review and vote on bylaws, and vote on a new Steering Committee member.

We would be very happy to carve out time for any candidates for the vacant East District City Council seat who wish to introduce themselves. Let us know if you are interested.
