Hello everyone,
I'm hosting a month-long series of some remarkable Bollywood films throughout the month of October at The Latchis Theatre in Brattleboro. All the films that I have chosen are from different time periods and different themes. There is an epic costume drama (Mughal-E-Azam – 1960), a contemporary feminist film (English Vinglish – 2012), a heartwarming comedy (Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. – 2003) and a black-and-white classic (Shree 420 – 1955). The first film in the series, Mughal-E-Azam, that I'm showing tomorrow took 14 years to make and has not been shown on a big screen since its release in 1960 and colorized re-release in 2004. Entry to all the screenings is by a suggested donation of $10 but no one will be turned away. This is a pretty historic event at The Latchis and I hope you all can come.
