Join Fox Paw and naturalist Bradley Materick for an evening of stargazing at the Stranahan Town Forest! Bring your curiosity and questions about all things astronomical…from mythology to cosmology! We'll hike from the Stranahan's Jake Martin Road trailhead about half a mile to the top of the Moon Field, where we can get a glorious 360-degree view of the sky. Here are the details…
When: Friday, October 14th at 6:30PM
Where: Meet at the Stranahan Town Forest parking area on Jake Martin Road
Map: https://goo.gl/maps/JfWkD4TDr9bvxZZEA
Cost: FREE!
Rain Date: If it's cloudy and/or rainy on the 14th, we'll try again on Saturday, October 15th, also at 6:30 PM
What to Bring: Except for the initial half-mile hike, we won't be moving around much, so bring plenty of warm clothes, and maybe a thermos of hot tea or cocoa! Also, if you want to bring a lightweight folding chair or a blanket to sit on, that could make things more comfy. Lastly, if you have binoculars (or can borrow some), definitely bring them!
RSVP: Please call or email Bradley to let him know that you are planning to attend this outing (802-578-3050 – jbmaterick@gmail.com). That way, he can let everyone know if it's too cloudy to meet on the 14th, and that we'll try again on the 15th…
