Panton General Election 2022 Information

The 2022 General Election is Tuesday, November 8, 2022.

Ballots for the General Election are being mailed to registered Vermont voters through the Secretary of State's Office Election Division. The SOS's Office sent notice that Panton ballots were mailed on 9/29; Panton voters should expect to receive their ballot in the mail by October 7, 2022.

You may return your ballot in one of several ways:

1. To the clerk or assistant clerk at Town Hall during regular business hours. (M – Th 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.)
2. In the secure official drop box in front of the flagpole at Town Hall 24/7. It is checked every business day. Ballots are moved to a locked ballot box inside Town Hall.
3. By mail. The return postage is paid. Make sure you place your ballot in the fully filled-out certificate envelope and place it inside the postage-paid envelope.
4. At the polls. In-person voting will be held on November 8, 2022 at Panton Town Hall, second floor, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. If you choose to vote in person, PLEASE bring the ballot you were mailed with you. If you lose or forget your mailed ballot, you will be asked to sign an "Affadavit of No Vote Cast" at the poll and be given a new ballot.

Please note that school ballots are not part of the Vermont State mailing, and you must request them from the clerk or assistant clerk or come to the poll on November 8th. See below for more information on the school questions.

General Election

Ballots for the General Election are being mailed to registered Vermont voters through the Secretary of State's Office Election Division. Panton voters should expect to receive their ballot in the mail by October 7, 2022. (If you moved to Panton from another Vermont town after September 9, 2022, your ballot was mailed to your former address and should be returned to the clerk in your previous town. Local Questions

Justices of the Peace: Panton elects five (5) Justices of the Peace. This office is included on the state ballot.

Formation of Union School District: Shall the Addison Northwest School District join with the Mount Abraham Unified School District to become effective on July 1, 2023. This is separate ballot and will not be included with the state ballot. Please contact Town Hall at (802) 475-2333 or email clerk-treasurer(@)pantonvt.us to request school ballots be mailed to you.

Union School District Board of Directors: If voters approve the formation of a Union School District, each Town will have one (1) or more representatives on the Board of Directors, based on Town population as reported by the U.S. Census. This slate of candidates will also be on a separate ballot not included with the state ballot.
