The Honeybee Steelband Plays the Steele Community Room

Past event

The Honeybee Steelband plays their lively, infectious, upbeat music with a bee-related theme at the Steel Community Room on Saturday, October 8th from noon to 2 PM. Founded by lead tenor player Emily Lanxner in collaboration with environmental group Mobilization for Pollinator Survival based out of Hardwick, the Honeybee Steelband has been delighting audiences since 2015 with their unique sound and mission.

Can you imagine "The Flight of the Bumblebee" on the steel pans? That and a full repertoire of bee tunes makes the concert an exciting one. After the concert, there will be time for questions about pollinators. What are the issues? How are pollinators being affected whether through coated seeds or endangered habitat and what does the future hold? This fun, educational and celebratory event is made possible by the Friends of the Waterbury Library through their generous support of programming and services. Refreshments served.
