Old Fashioned Auction at Liberty Head Post & Beam

If you have driven through Huntington lately, you may have noticed a lot of activity recently at the Liberty Head Post & Beam shop at 2855 Main Road. After 45 years of running a timber framing business, 40 of those years at the barn on the main road, I have now "mostly" retired. Several weeks ago, Megs and I sold the property to Birdseye Building Company. I am sure they will do good things there. Because of the sale of the property, we are clearing out by having an auction of tools (new and antique), boxes of pegs, nails and bolts, thousands of board feet of timbers and lumber that have been stored in the sheds, roofing slate, handmade bricks, and old "barn finds" from buildings we have worked on such as horse drawn equipment, a sleigh, plows, wooden barrels and boxes, and 40 years of accumulated "stuff".

The auction is scheduled for Saturday, October 15th, on-site bidding starting at noon, pre-view in the morning. It will be run by the TH Hirchak Auction Company and will not only be on site, but will be "simulcast" live for on-line bidding. They have taken photos of the 300+/- items to be sold, and starting sometime next week you can view them on the Hirchak website and actually start submitting pre-bids if interested.
