This Tuesday September 27th at 5 pm. at The Current in Stowe, please come to the third in the Currently Speaking series of talks on Contemporary Art topics. Vermont visual artist, and winner of the first Vermont Prize (awarded to a contemporary artist living and working in Vermont) Will Kasso Condry will speak about his work and his journey to becoming an artist and settling in Vermont.
Originally from New Jersey, Condry has a background in fine art and illustration. He creates drawings and paintings about the African diaspora, and also explores the aesthetic of Afrofuturism — the intersection of African diaspora culture with science and technology. He is also the founder of Juniper Creative Arts, a Vermont-based Black and Dominican family visual arts collective. Stowe residents and visitors will recognize their work in the wonderful murals recently created on the Recreation Path and at Stowe Middle School.
The talk is FREE with a suggested donation of $10, and refreshments will be served. No registration is needed.
