Join us next Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. for an online discussion of Kazuo Ishiguro's novel Klara and the Sun, featuring an Artificial Friend (and AI Robot programmed to help children) observing the world and the complicated humans around her . The Zoom link is attached below, or find it on the calendar at our website's Programs page: https://greensborofreelibrary.org/programs-events-2/.
Our October book club selection is the novel Necessary Lies, by Diane Chamberlain, set in a rural North Carolina town in a time of state-mandated sterilizations and racial tension. At our Zoom discussion on Thursday, October 27, we'll learn a bit about the Eugenics movement in Vermont during that same time period. Copies of the novel will be available to borrow in the first week of October.
Happy autumn and happy reading everyone!
