A ribbon-cutting, marking the official opening of the Moretown Library Storywalk®, will take place on Saturday, September 24th at 5:15pm during Morefest at the Moretown Rec Field.
The newly-installed Storywalk® features pages from a children's book divided among 20 permanent signs that invite children and adults to enjoy a story and a walk in nature at the same time. The first book to be featured is Pokko and the Drum by Matthew Forsythe, and new books will rotate in on a regular basis to make the Storywalk® a year-round installation. The Storywalk® begins at the Moretown Rec Field, winds along the nature trail, around the tennis courts, and ends near the Moretown Skills Park.
The StoryWalk is sponsored by the Friends of Moretown Library, with additional support by Moretown Elementary School. The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. Storywalk® is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson.
