Please consider getting involved with the Waterbury Area Anti-Racism Coalition (WAARC)! WAARC's mission is "to create a community where every person can fully experience freedom, belonging, and love on a daily basis."

WAARC was formed in the summer of 2020 following the murder of George Floyd and we have worked within the Waterbury community to accomplish a lot since then! You might have noticed our "We Stand with Black Lives Matter" yard signs around the community, the inclusion banner that the Select Board raised in Waterbury, or the recently painted electrical boxes on Main Street. We also partnered with Harwood students to host community conversations, which led to the renaming of Brookside Primary School. WAARC membership regularly comes together to produce position statements and mobilize people around issues facing our community.

WAARC has monthly membership meetings where we learn, laugh, and celebrate together. After a short summer break, WAARC is back via ZOOM this Tuesday, September 27, at 7:00 PM! You can find more information about us, donate, and become a member at our website: https://waterburyantiracism.com/
