A Writing Workshop for Parents & Teachers will be held on Monday, August 26th at the Johnson Public Library on Railroad street at 6:30 p.m.

This workshop will lead parents and teachers through the steps to teaching organized writing through the use of the Painted Essay format.  This approach involves a color-coded formula that can be applied to any piece of writing – from one paragraph to a lengthy research report.  Once children master the organization of writing, they can spend their energy focusing on content and analysis.  The workshop will last about one hour and attendees will be provided with examples, resources, and writing prompts to take home and begin using immediately!

The workshop will be taught by Johnson resident, Julia Lesauskis who is the director of the Mansfield Coop in Underhill. She has been an elementary teacher for 9 years, trained in traditional and Montessori education.  She is now the director of a homeschool cooperative that aims at helping children find a balance between creativity and rigor and become independent and resourceful life-long learners.   Julia strives to provide families and students with the resources to feel academically, socially, and practically successful.

There is $5 charge for handouts and copies. Please register for the writing workshop by contacting Debby at creations@universaldreamer.com or 635-9802.

This workshop is sponsored by the Lamoille Homeschoolers.
