VOLUNTEERS WANTED
Help clean up our beloved and historic cemetery, located right here on Main Street. Despite our great event last fall, there is still much work to be done. Passing by the cemetery, the effects of the volunteers' valiant effort is evident; there are dozens of beautiful clean stones – restored to their former glory – among a sea of unkept ones. Certainly, to leave the job only partially done would be a disservice to our community. The stones date from the late 18th century to the early 20th century, however most of the stones are from antebellum-era America. Among those buried, there are numerous members of the founding families, veterans, and simply ordinary people that deserve to be remembered. Therefore, it is our solemn duty as the people of the Town of Castleton, and as Americans, to make sure that these stones lest be forgotten. Please join me once again in helping to restore and preserve the legacy of Castleton's ancestors and our wartime heroes.
