Over the course of 8 weekly classes at the Chrysalis Creative studio in St Johnsbury, beginning/intermediate sewists will learn how to draft and sew a skirt they design. Participants will start by learning to take their measurements and draft a basic skirt pattern on paper using a ruler and a pencil. Then you will be guided in choosing a skirt design and fabric. You will learn how to manipulate the basic skirt pattern to create your design. You will learn fabric lay out, marking and cutting techniques. Finally you will sew your skirt together in muslin or an easy to work with fabric of your choice. You will leave this class with a basic skirt pattern that you can modify again and again to make any skirt you imagine!
