HEARING SCHEDULED FOR SOUTH ROYALTON RAILROAD CROSSINGS

The Vermont Transportation Board on October 6, 2022 will conduct a site visit and evidentiary hearing, pursuant to 5 V.S.A. § 3584, 5 V.S.A. § 3783, and other applicable law, on petitions filed by the Town of Royalton to both permanently close an at-grade railroad crossing located at Stearns Road on the New England Central Railroad at DOT Crossing No. 247539L at Railroad Milepost #30.97 as well as order the instillation of lights and bars to enhance safety at a railroad crossing located at Stearns Road on the New England Central Railroad at DOT Crossing No. 247541M at Railroad Milepost #31.49.

The hearing will be held at 1 p.m. at the Chase Community Center on the Vermont Law School Campus, 166 Chelsea Street, South Royalton, VT 05068. Prior to the hearing, the Board at 10:30 a.m. on October 6, 2022 will conduct a site visit at the two railroad crossings.
