The Green Mountain National Forest is providing free outdoor programs and guided hikes in our own Moosalamoo National Recreation Area throughout the fall! Be on the lookout for events every week into mid-October. This week the activities are:

THURSDAY 9/22
10-11 am: Is it really Ethan Allen's Cave? at Branbury State Park
Enjoy learning a bit about Vermont's role in the Revolutionary War while on a fun ramble to Ethan Allen's Cave. A 1.5 mile out and back moderate hike. No registration required, meet at Branbury State Park entrance station to join - park entry fee is $5. Call hike leader Pat at 802-578-3980 for more info.

FRIDAY 9/23
1-2:30 pm: Falls of Lana Hike & Stream Scramble! at Branbury State Park
Join a short hike to see how many different stream macroinvertebrates we can find, and view a beautiful waterfall! Hike includes uneven terrain, some scrambling, and wading in a stream! SATURDAY 9/24
1-2:30 pm: Presentation on Forest Health in VT with State Specialist Savannah Ferreira
Meet at the Blueberry Hill Outdoor Center to enjoy a presentation by VT Forest Health specialist Savannah Ferreira! Email Jill at brooks.jill96@gmail.com to RSVP.

SUNDAY 9/25
10-2pm: Chandler Ridge Ramble
Enjoy an easy to moderate 6 mile hike along a Green Mountain ridgeline with wonderful views. Wear close-toed shoes, bug spray, and bring plenty of water. Blaze orange clothing items are also encouraged for hunting season safety. No registration required - meet at the Silver Lake Trail parking lot where we will carpool to the Minnie Baker Trailhead. 1-2:30 pm: Free Poetry Workshop with the Ruth Stone House! at the Robert Frost Interpretive Trail
Enjoy a free generative poetry workshop offered by the Ruth Stone House in partnership with the Green Mountain National Forest! If you like beautiful autumnal trail walks and writing poems, this program is for you. Space is limited! Email brooks.jill96@gmail.com to sign up.
