The Rupert Village Trust is hosting a basket raffle and barbecue on Saturday, September 24, at the Sheldon Store, 2824 Route 153 in Rupert. The basket raffle is 12 - 2, and includes baskets donated by individuals and area businesses. Barbecue, prepared on site by associates of Blue Ribbon Barbecue in the Boston area, is served from 11:00 - 3:00. Desserts include Mother Myrick's famous Lemon Lulu cake, as well as home baked goods, along with coffee and cold beverages. All proceeds of the raffle and profits from the barbecue benefit the Rupert Village Trust in its efforts to renovate the Sheldon General Store and create a community center and café. This event is coordinated with the Congregational Church's rummage sale, right across the street from the Sheldon Store. Find fabulous bargains, win beautiful baskets, and eat barbecue! All in the center of Rupert, adjacent to the Town Green.
