The fall session of the Osher Life-long Learning Institute (OLLI) kicks off in less than a week at the Montpelier Senior Activities Center. We have an outstanding group of eight speakers plus a three-film series hosted by Rick Winston (films are shown at the Savoy Theater).
We will discuss important current issues including the challenges posed by the pandemic (with Dr. Mark Levine), the extreme political polarization in our country, biodiversity, and homelessness. Did you know the KKK existed here in VT? Can you identify what birds you hear in your backyard? Have you ever taken a 500-mile walk? Do you wonder who takes the photos we see in our daily newspaper and why? You will hear about all this plus enjoy three outstanding film adaptations of famous Henry James novels.
The Wednesday series starts on September 21―with Diane Derby sharing inside information on how national politics really work―and goes through December 14, 2022. All presentations start at 1:30. See descriptions of the complete program at https://learn.uvm.edu/program/osher-lifelong-learning/olli-statewide/central-vermont/.
You may register for all 11 weekly presentations―eight talks plus three films―for $40 ($70 for two) or for individual sessions at $8 apiece. Registration should be done online ahead of time or by mail to UVM OLLI. Or if you decide to drop in at the last moment, you may send a check or pay online after the fact. All the details are at https://learn.uvm.edu/program/osher-lifelong-learning/olli-statewide/central-vermont/.
Please join these engaging and knowledgeable community members/presenters starting on Wednesday, September 21 at 1:30 pm at the Montpelier Senior Activities Center on Barre Street.
