Tunbridge Town Forest Walk - Trees

The Tunbridge Conservation Commission, Town Forest Committee and Trails Committee have collaborated to organize a monthly event series on the Tunbridge Town Forest - Garage Lot.

Events begin at 10am and run 2-3 hours. Most events include walking over moderately hilly terrain. The Garage Lot is located on Recreation Road just before the Town Garage. Park up to the right out of the roadway and sandpit access road.

October 1 - Trees with Paul Harwood - learn all about the species in our Town Forest

November 12 - History with Izzy Provoncha - learn about residents buried in the cemetery adjacent to the forest and Revolutionary War era local history.

December 3 - Tracking with Lynn Levine - part indoors instruction, and outdoors field study learn with Vermont forester, tracker and author about habits and signs of local wildlife.

January 7 - Fire Making with Brenda Field and Eliza Minnucci - learn about Vermont wild-fire-fighting, try your hand at flint and steel, warm yourself by a Swedish candle, and roast some tasty treats out in the fresh winter air!
