When: Sep 10, 2022, 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Where: Cota Field, Starksboro
The Starksboro Conservation Commission seeks help on Saturday morning September 10th with the planting of 80 small trees and the installation of protective fencing around the trees. All are welcome to join us from 9:00-noon. Trees and shrubs will be planted along the banks of Lewis Creek to prevent erosion and improve the river habitat. Plantings in the meadow will improve habitat for the golden and blue winged warblers and other birds.
The trees were purchased at the Intervale with grant funding from the National Fish and Wildlife Service, through Audubon Vermont and the Mid-Champlain Valley Regional Conservation Partnership.
Cota ballfield parking is located near the junction of States Prison Hollow Road and VT 116 in Starksboro. Have questions? email rjtco@gmavt.net
