Contra Dance at Pierce on Thursday--With 3 Fiddlers!

Past event
Jun 19, 2014, 7 to 10 PM

The Rochester Contra dance this Thursday will have not one but three powerful fiddlers at Pierce Hall, Rochester. Caller and fiddler, David Kaynor regularly tours the continent and beyond, sharing his deep enthusiasm of our very own New England dance tradition. Joanne Garton is known through Scotland, Quebec, and Vermont for her dynamic, lush fiddle tones, and she will be playing with her stepdaughter, Mikaela Moore (fiddle) and Aaron Marcus (piano, concertina, banjo, foot percussion, nyckelharpa). He is a master harmony fiddle player in the Swedish tradition, and also a fun and wonderfully supportive teacher. Gina Sonne will also provide waltz instruction during the break. Come as you are--if you can walk, you can contra dance. You asked for it, and we did it! We've lowered our minimum admission price: $5-10 sliding scale.
