The West Rutland Historical Society will meet on Sunday September 18, 2022 @ 1:00 pm at the West Rutland Town Hall, 35 Marble Street in town. Our guest speaker will be NVU History Professor Paul Searls. His lecture is titled: Vermonters Debate: The New Route 7. Progress and Development versus History and Tradition.

Professor Searls will present the debate over the State of Vermont's efforts from the 1950's on to change the structure of the historic Route 7 in southern Vermont. Discussion to follow the presentation.

Come share your memories and opinions about this important highway and its role in our regions economic and political history.
