The Green Mountain National Forest is providing free outdoor programs and guided hikes throughout the fall! Be on the lookout for events through September and in to mid-October. This week the activities are:
- Thursday 9/8 Is it really Ethan Allen's Cave?
An easy and fun one mile hike to the famous cave, featuring folklore, myths, and history about Vermont in the Revolutionary War
- Friday 9/9 Falls of Lana hike and Stream Scramble
How many macroinvertebrates can we find in the stream? 1.5 mile hike including some light scrambling and wading.
- Saturday 9/10 Bustling Beavers, at Blueberry Hill Outdoor Center
Gather for a story about beavers, followed by a short hike to a dam! Ideal for ages 5- 12.
- Sunday 9/11 Chandler Ridge Ramble
A moderate 6 mile hike along the ridge to Silver Lake, with views to the west and east, and one of the very best views of Silver Lake and Mt. Moosalamoo.
- Sunday 9/11 Rattlesnake Cliff Hike
Gorgeous views of Lake Dunmore and Silver Lake. Moderate to difficult 3.5 mile hike.
- Sunday Evening Full Moon Cave Hike
A moonlight hike to Ethan Allen's woodland cave. An easy 1 mile round trip.
