The Green Mountain National Forest is providing free outdoor programs and guided hikes throughout the fall! Be on the lookout for events through September and in to mid-October. This week the activities are:
THURSDAY 9/8
10-11 am: Is it really Ethan Allen's Cave?
An easy and fun one mile hike to the famous cave!
FRIDAY 9/9
1-3:30 pm: Falls of Lana Hike and Stream Scramble
How many macroinvertebrates can we find in the stream? 1.5 mile hike including some light scrambling and wading.
SATURDAY 9/10
Bustling Beavers! at Blueberry Hill Outdoor Center
1-2:30 pm: Gather for a book reading about beavers, followed by a short hike to a beaver dam! Ideal for ages 5- 12.
SUNDAY 9/11
10 am - 2pm: Chandler Ridge Ramble
A moderate 6 mile hike along the ridge to Silver Lake, with views to the west and east, and one of the very best views of Silver Lake and Mt. Moosalamoo.
10 am - 12:30 pm: Rattlesnake Cliff Hike
Gorgeous views of Lake Dunmore and Silver Lake. A moderate to difficult 3.5 mile hike.
7:30-8:30 pm Full Moon Cave Hike
A moonlight hike to Ethan Allen's woodland cave. An easy 1 mile round trip.
