The Allman Brothers created some legendary music in the 70's and 80's: Ramblin Man, Midnight Rider, Melissa, Southbound, Whipping Post and Ain't Wastin Time No More are just a few examples. They also popularized some early blues tunes like Stormy Monday and Statesboro Blues. Our band, Soulshine Revival, will be performing a free Allman Brothers Tribute Concert this Sunday at Yates Family Orchard on Davis Road. One of the reasons I love playing the Allman Brothers music is that it's such a mix of genres -- Southern Rock, Blues, Jazz and some Country sprinkled in from time to time. Bring a lawn chair or blanket, pick some apples, have a creemee, or one or two cider donuts (or ten). Just relax and enjoy the opening days of fall in Vermont. Great music, tasty food, friendly neighbors – this is why we live in Vermont. See you Sunday!
