Sunday Service for UU Fellowship of Stowe

Past event
Sep 11, 2022, 4:30 to 5:30 PM

The Unitarian Universalist (UU) Fellowship of Stowe will be resuming our regular services in person on Sunday, Sept. 11 at 4:30 pm at St. John's in the Mountains Episcopal Church at 1994 Mountain Road in Stowe with Guest Minister Julie Bond. Masks are required.

Ms. Bond will lead us in a Water Communion - sometimes called Water Ceremony - which was first used at a UU worship service in the 1980's. Many UU congregations now hold a Water Communion once a year, often at the beginning of the new church year which is Sept. for our Fellowship. Attendees should bring to the service a small amount of water from a place that is special to them or that is symbolic of that place.

During the appointed time in the service, people one by one will pour their water together into a large bowl. As the water is added, the person who brought it tells why this water is special to them. The combined water is symbolic of our shared faith coming from many different sources.

We welcome everyone to our services. For more information, or to be put on the list to receive information, call Nancy at 617 835-5425, or visit our Facebook site, UU Fellowship of Stowe.
