Celebrate National Coming Out Day with VINE Sanctuary and the Springfield Town Library at a Speak Out!

A Speak Out is a place where LGBTQ+ people can share their coming out stories. An event like this gives the LGBTQ+ community a chance to share their story with their community, as well as allowing allies to show solidarity.

Coming out is important for LGBTQ+ people because it allows them to live full, rich, authentic lives, as well as helping their mental health. People who know LGBTQ+ community members are less likely to be biased or believe stereotypes. It's also important to share these stories, so LGBTQ+ youth know that they're not alone. LGBTQ+ adults can be role models for youth who may experience bullying because of their identity. Springfield is working on becoming more inclusive, and this is a great way to hear and celebrate the experiences of friends and neighbors. National Coming Out Day is a chance to celebrate and share! Originally established over 30 years ago, National Coming Out Day reminds us how important it still is for LGBTQ+ to come out and share their truth.

Join VINE Sanctuary and The Springfield Town Library as people share their coming out stories on October 11, 2022, at the Comtu Cascade Park from 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm. This event is free and open to the public.
