Washington UU Congregation Final Summer Service

Past event
Sep 4, 2022, 10 to 11 AM

Please join us for our last service of the year on Sunday, September 4th at 10:00am. at the Washington Unitarian Universalist Congregation, located at 2938 VT Route 110 in the village of Washington, Vermont.

We welcome Rev. Dr. Mellen Kennedy whose topic will be "Creativity Will Save Us!" As we look around, we see challenges on all sides. Where will the salvation come from? From inside of each and every one of us! We are each vessels of God's Healing, Love and Light -- when we wake up to it! We have within us a creative capacity to make the world a better, more just, beautiful, sustainable, compassionate place. But how do we access this? First and foremost, we need to learn the art of paying attention and using our power of attention in a creative way. Join us for an uplifting service that promises to leave You humming with possibilities. After the social hour, Mellen will have an informal Friends on the Path Group with anyone who wants to pursue the topic further.

Rev. Dr. Mellen Kennedy is a Universalist Minister and a Sufi Cheraga. She is passionate about helping people find their way home to their connection with the Source within. She served the Springfield Meetinghouse until retiring recently from UU parish ministry. She teaches the Sacred Art of Storytelling. Mellen is the founder of Interfaith Bridge and lives in Lincoln, Vermont.

Our accompanist is Nora Zablow. If you like to sing, our small choir rehearses some simple pieces at 9:15am prior to the service. Coffee, tea and cookies are served after the service. All are welcome.
