Dear Friends and Neighbors,
At this coming weekend's townwide yard sale (Sept. 3rd and 4th) in Shoreham, I will be offering a number of rare, unusual, and often highly collectable items from my mis-spent youth as a mountaineer and explorer.
Ever seen a real Jivaro or Auca blowgun and darts? How about an Inca roller that makes a repetitive pattern of the classic Inca crocodile-toothed bird in plaster?
Or a 1200 year-old Carchi baby's bowl?
I'm also selling all my technical rock and ice climbing gear, including crampons, carabiners, rock pitons, wired stoppers, ice tools, ascenders and the like... enough for a major expedition. Several sets of snowshoes left over from an in-the-Arctic-Circle parachuting expedition (seeking first ascents).
I also have a ton of fishing gear... dry flies, topwater lures, bass plugs, spinners, spoons and even a new fishingvest. . Also many quality rods with reels and a dozen extra reels.
Lots of nice militaria, including a mint WWII US Army Air Corps flight vest, a new, unused 120' Army "green line" climbing rope, and a USN talkers helmet with two WORKING Navy sound-powered telephone sets. Even an ultra-rare D-day airborne helmet , signed with encryption by one of the original "filthy 13"... from which was derived the Hollywood "dirty dozen".
We are about 2 and a 1/2 miles from the village on route 74 East. Just look for the very large American Flag draped on our canopy. Feel free to call or email for much more stuff...
Hope to see you there!
Jim Peden
