Greetings, all. As you may have heard, the Chittenden Solid Waste District is planning for a new recycling facility. To help inform you before the November bond vote, CSWD is hosting a community forum on Tuesday, September 6th in Charlotte. Below are details of the meeting.
Also, you can tour the existing facility to see how all that blue-bin recycling gets separated! An invitation appeared in FPF in the last day, but if you missed it, you can get details from CSWD's Alise Certa at acerta@cswd.net. I encourage you to sign up for a tour: It's eye-opening.
For the record, I wholeheartedly support the new recycling facility. We need it badly: The existing facility is outdated and ill-equipped to handle the volume of recycling we generate. If you would like to discuss this, feel free to reach out to me at rmccraw@cswd.net.
Happy Labor Day weekend,
Rick McCraw, CSWD Commissioner for Hinesburg

Hello neighbors!
The Chittenden Solid Waste District (CSWD), a trusted steward of Chittenden County's waste and recycling since 1987, is proposing to build a new recycling facility (known as a Materials Recovery Facility, or MRF) in Williston. Vermonters want to recycle and they want to recycle more but the current, outdated facility is inefficient and limits the amount we can recycle.
Please come ask questions and learn more about how this new and improved facility will allow Vermonters to recycle more and preserve precious landfill space -- without increasing your taxes! -- at a community forum CSWD is hosting for Charlotte, Shelburne, and Hinesburg residents.
When: Tuesday, September 6th 5:30-7:00 PM
Where: Charlotte Senior Center, 212 Ferry Road, Charlotte
