I serve on the board for the Vermont run non-profit People Helping People Global. We support economic development projects in Nicaragua.

PHPG's summer fundraiser is a crazy and fun race called the Brain Freezer 5K. It's called the brain freezer because you eat ice cream halfway through the race. We have two divisions for the runners, you can either be a fun runner or a competitor. The difference is that competitors must eat the entire pint of ice cream and fun runners can nibble away at their own leisure.

The race is September 17th at 10am. It starts and ends in Battery Park in downtown Burlington. Racers will run along the bike path to North Beach for the ice cream then return to battery park for the finish, music and prizes.
