Relocalizing VT, Th 9am: Trees and Music

Past event
Sep 1, 2022, 9 to 10:30 AM

Coming up Thursday on Central Vermont Community Radio - Vermont's tree future seen from an "urban and community forestry" perspective, plus a plethora of music events coming up over the long weekend.

9:00 - 10:00 am
Vermont's Urban & Community Forestry Program helps in everything from reducing dangers from dying ash trees along rural roads to helping urban areas find trees that will thrive in a changing climate. Guests will be Joanne Garton, who coordinates technical assistance for the program, and John Snell, who chairs Montpelier's Tree Board.

The long Labor Day weekend is full of musical celebrations in Vermont. Tim Swartz of the Capital City Grange and Pete Sutherland of Pete's Posse will talk about the last (for a while?) performance of Pete's Posse at the Grange's contra dance this Saturday evening. Kevin Dunwoody is stepping down after serving as music director for 30 years at Randolph's New World Festival of Celtic and French Canadian music and dance, coming up this Sunday. And don't forget Chelsea's "Arts on the Green" market and festival this Saturday, which we talked about in detail earlier in August.
