Sue Ellen Thompson, a graduate of Middlebury and the Bread Loaf School of English, has been a part-time resident of Hancock since 1986. She is the author of six books of poetry—most recently Sea Nettles: New & Selected Poems—and the editor of The Autumn House Anthology of Contemporary American Poetry, 1st edition.
Thompson's poems have been included in the Best American Poetry series and read more than a dozen times on National Public Radio by Garrison Keillor. Currently an instructor at The Writer's Center in Bethesda, Maryland, she lives on the Eastern Shore of the Chesapeake and was awarded the 2010 Maryland Author Prize from the Maryland Library Association.
