Jumping Worms are a reality in our area. A year ago, I found 3 in my garden. This year I have hundreds.
I'm offering a free workshop where you will get-dirt-under-your-fingernails and experience holding a jumping worm. Monday, August, 29 from 5 to 6 PM. Location: the corner of Brown and Prospect in Bellows Falls.
I can provide some details, but as yet there is no solution to this new invasive creature. If you want some good, easy to read information, check out Vermont Extension Service's "Vermont Invasives".
Good sanitation is one way to help stop the spread. So, please wear clothes you can wash easily and shoes that we will scrub clean before you leave. I want to keep all the worms here and not spread them to other areas, if possible.
If you haven't seen them and want to get a hands-on experience finding them in garden soil please join me.
