The Monkton Conservation Commission would love to have your participation in removing invasive buckthorn from the woods/outdoor classroom behind Monkton Central School on Saturday morning, August 27th, from 8:30 to 11:30. Available for use will be Uprooter tools funded by a grant to the Conservation Commission from the Association of Vermont Conservation Commissions. We also have other tools available and invite anyone with an Uprooter, a Weed Wrench, or other useful tools to come join us. You are welcome to drop in for just part of the session.

We extend a special invitation to parents and grandparents of Monkton Central School students. Volunteering to improve the school grounds is a nice way to start the new school year!

The extended forecast predicts sun and cooler temperatures for the 27th, but in case of rain, we will instead meet Sunday morning, the 28th, from 8:30 to 11:30.
