Races for all ages in Northfield on September 3

NORTHFIELD 5K and Kids 1 Mile Race -- Northfield's annual Labor Day Weekend festival kicks off with a 5K race and one-mile kids' run on Saturday, September 3. The 5K race starts at 9:30 a.m. in downtown Northfield, followed by the one-mile kids run at 10:30 a.m.

Central Vemont Runners is directing this year's Northfield race. Ten-year age group prizes and kids run prizes will be provided by Northfield Savings Bank, which previously directed the race, and Darn Tough Socks.

The event also serves as the Vermont Senior Games Association (https://www.vermontseniorgames.org/) state championship 5K road race and 5K power walk. VSGA gold, silver, and bronze medals will go to the top three age 50+ male and female runners and walkers, in five-year age groups. The Northfield 5K is a qualifier for the 2023 National Senior Games, to be held in Pittsburgh next July.
