The Current, Stowe's center for contemporary art, presents noted Stowe sculptor CHRIS CURTIS, speaking about his latest work 'That Place in the Stars' and its' journey from Vermont to its' permanent home in Oklahoma! This talk is the second in The Current's new series of talks on contemporary art topics, CURRENTLY SPEAKING. The talk starts at 5 pm on Tuesday August 23rd, and is free to attend, with a suggested donation of $10. Refreshments will be served.
Documented on social media, the glistening metal sculpture was first installed at Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe before beginning its' cross-country voyage, with planned exhibition stops along the way at various contemporary art venues. Curtis will discuss the work itself, the idea for the public exhibits of the work while traveling to its' destination, and the details involved in conceiving, creating and transporting such a large sculpture across the country on a flat-bed truck!
