Hi 5 Sisters Neighbors!
We're hosting a work-day at Calahan Park next Wednesday (8/24) to spread woodchips under the new playground before we officially open it up. If you're available that morning and feel like getting some exercise raking out woodchips, we'll take all the help we can get! Where: Calahan Park Playground; 45 Locust St.
When: Wednesday, August 24th, Starting at 9 AM until finished
What: Help put the finishing touches on our newest playground at Calahan Park! We'll be spreading about 170 cubic yards of wood chips to ensure our community's kids can safely take a tumble while they play. Parks' grounds team will get the spreading started with a bucket loader, but it'll take some old fashioned elbow grease to get underneath where the machines can't reach. We'll get started on spreading the woodchips in the morning and will keep going until we're done. We expect it to take 1-2 hours, but the more hands that show up the faster it will go!
Snacks and non-alcoholic drinks will be provided. RSVP to the Signup Genius link to let us know if you can make it.
