Greetings fellow community members!
We hope that everyone is doing well and has thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful (although dryer than normal…) Vermont summer!
We're just about two weeks away from The Overland! It's our charitable gravel cycling event that supports both Ascutney Outdoors and the Reading/West Windsor Food Shelf. We're extremely excited to get things rolling and grateful for all the community support that we've received thus far.
We just wanted to write a note to let everyone know what's going on throughout the weekend and invite you to join in on the fun!
Here's a basic schedule for the weekend: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Q0hlE79CoBJRCzL9HDmrsPCCduZmA79G/view?usp=sharing
Here's a list of roads and estimated timestamps where community members can expect to see cyclists passing through on August 27th: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1CUKXljPJ-pHD0gVr4mSHRvv2AVD4lo5b/view?usp=sharing
One of our goals for The Overland is to make it a super sustainable, long-lasting, community-centric event! We encourage community members to come out to cheer on the cyclists that will be tackling this challenging course! They would be super grateful.
We've also communicated many times to our participants about what to do when they encounter a horse/rider and that our 4-legged friends ALWAYS have the right of way. We also plan to include this in our pre-ride announcements.
If you have any interest in volunteering, we are always looking for help! Sign up for one or more tasks here: https://forms.gle/XhHA7pPzvPquaeF79
