"Bennington Battlefield Locations Revealed" with Bob Hoar
On August 16, 1777, the Green Mountain Boys joined American rebel forces and faced off against the professional British army near Bennington, VT. This battle was part of the larger Saratoga campaign and contributed to a major turning point in the Revolutionary War that helped lead to an American victory. But how did the American rebels near Bennington defeat the strongest and richest army in the world at the time? Former Park docent and history presenter Bob Hoar will explain the battle and battlefield in a visual presentation of little-known battlefield locations. What happened at these locations over two hundred years ago helped lead to America as we know it today.
